You can have a heart attack and not even know it.
A heart attack (or myocardial infarction) occurs when blood flow to a portion of the heart muscle is blocked, usually by a clot. This blockage can cause damage or death to the heart muscle, leading to severe complications or death.
Routine checkups, blood pressure, cholesterol monitoring, and early detection methods like echocardiograms or troponin T blood tests can crucially identify silent heart attacks and help with timely intervention.
St. Elizabeth Hospital is also gearing up to introduce the Catheterization Laboratory or Cath lab soon.
Stay tuned for more updates.
