Today, St. Elizabeth Hospital turned over the purchase order to signify the commencement of its Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) project to Shimadzu Corporation, manufacturer of the world-class Ceiling Mounted Shimadzu Trinias C16. This state-of-the-art facility provides advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with cardiovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease, stroke, and peripheral arterial disease. The Catheterization Laboratory will allow us to offer a range of advanced procedures, including angioplasty, stenting, and electrophysiology studies. With these advanced treatment options, patients will receive faster and more accurate diagnoses, leading to better clinical outcomes.
SEHI’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Antonio Veneracion, said that “A Cath Lab within the region means that patients can receive lifesaving treatment for heart conditions much faster than having to travel long distances to other facilities such as Davao, Cebu, or Manila”. He also added that the hospital will also apply for the Z-benefit package for this treatment to reduce the expenses of the patients, making it more affordable for the community. Shimadzu’s Davao Branch Manager, Mr. Rodolfo Luna shared that in one of Davao City’s hospitals 80 cases in a month, approximately 30% of them come from Region XII.
Establishing this facility is a significant investment in our community’s health, and we are proud to be at the forefront of cardiovascular care. We are committed to providing the highest quality of care for our patients, and the Catheterization Laboratory is just one example of this commitment.
