On August 14, 2023, St. Elizabeth Hospital in collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Koronadal, and the Department of Migrant Workers conducted a meeting regarding some challenges that OFWs face with their medical certificates. The orientation provided them with valuable insights into identifying and verifying authentic medical certificates, equipping them with the knowledge needed to ensure the safety and well-being of the migrant workers under their care.
PESO Koronadal Head, Mr. Bernardo Taperla, Jr., expressed his gratitude to St. Elizabeth Hospital for its unwavering commitment and initiative in organizing an orientation session aimed at educating manpower agencies about identifying fake medical certificates. This dedication aligns perfectly with PESO’s mission to ensure the safety and well-being of migrant workers.
SEHI’s OFW Clinic Medical Director, Dr. Stephen Segocio, discussed that SEHI’s medical certificates have a QR code which provides an extra layer of security and verification. The QR code is linked to the patient’s profile, which can be accessed and verified. This allows the recipient of the certificate to confirm its authenticity quickly and easily which can help to prevent fraud or misuse of the certificate.
At St. Elizabeth Hospital, we understand the importance of quality healthcare services and the challenges that our OFWs face in accessing these services. Through this partnership, we aim to bridge this gap and provide accessible and affordable healthcare services to our OFWs.
